About The Author

 Adel Elsayed is a board-certified psychiatrist, certified physician executive, and assistant professor in the University of South Florida (USF) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. He provides outpatient psychiatric care and leads multiple mental health and process-improvement initiatives that support clinical excellence, operational effectiveness, and system reliability across academic and healthcare settings.


He serves as faculty for the Human Systems Engineering Scholarly Concentration at the USF Morsani College of Medicine and contributes to interdisciplinary committees focused on safety, performance improvement, and high-reliability practices. During his clinical training, Adel received multiple outstanding teaching awards in recognition of his commitment to medical education and mentorship.


Before entering medicine, Adel worked as a process engineer and earned his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Motorola University. His statewide recognition for the top Black Belt Project in 2024 expanded his role in leading large-scale quality initiatives. He teaches quality improvement principles to medical students, residents, and fellows, integrating engineering precision with compassionate psychiatric care.
